The Australian market is full of experiential learning, motivational keynotes, andgeneric competency workshops. Here's what they're missing.

WHAT WE DID

We partnered with AICD's leadership to co-design a phased High Performance Teams program targeting individual, team, and organisational effectiveness simultaneously. The program delivered four HPT modules, each built around risk areas surfaced by a team assessment diagnostic — not off-the-shelf content, but tailored interventions matched to what the data told us. Each module combined pre and post workshop tasks with accountability partnerships and executive coaching. Participants weren't just attending sessions. They were actively building trust, learning to manage conflict productively, and embedding new habits between workshops through intentional practice. Forty-three people leaders also completed individual Five Behaviours Development Report debriefs, giving them a clear, personal roadmap for leading their teams through the stages of forming, storming, norming, and performing.

WHAT CHANGED

The numbers tell one story: a 5% lift in employee engagement, a 9% jump in organisational pride, and a 94% facilitator rating across the board. Ninety-one percent of participants said they'd recommend us to a colleague. But the deeper shift was cultural. Silos that had defined the old operating model started breaking down. Teams developed shared language around accountability, alignment, and self-awareness — anchored to a new Value Chain and a fundamentally different customer experience. Leaders became more comfortable navigating conflict instead of avoiding it. Connection, cohesion, and retention all moved in the right direction. As one participant put it: "A great overall experience and loads of information to digest. Very keen to apply what we learnt today to practice. A very insightful and interactive workshop with loads of group activities."

WHY IT WORKED

This wasn't a one-and-done program. The phased design meant behaviour change had time to take root. Coaching and debriefs kept leaders accountable between modules. And because every intervention was mapped to diagnostic data, nothing was wasted on areas that didn't need attention. When transformation programs stall, it's rarely because the technology failed. It's because no one invested in the humans expected to make it work. AICD made that investment — and it showed.
